Chunky Peach, Raspberry + Quinoa Baby Food Puree
This Chunky Peach, Raspberry + Quinoa Baby Food Puree is a crave-worthy puree that baby will love. Great for babies 6 months and up – either Stage 2 or Stage 3 baby food.
I am almost four months into this two-kid thing, and I am still trying to figure it all out. It’s like a large floor puzzle that you know all fits together, but you lose the picture and are left scratching your head trying to fit it all together piece by piece.
One thing that is stumping me [please let me know if you have any ideas here] is when you go to the grocery store, where do you put both the toddler and the baby? Right now, I put Frankie in her car seat and in the main basket while Ellie still likes to sit in the top basket. So this arrangement works out great, except you don’t have anywhere to put the food. I try to shove all the food around the sides of the car seat, but that only works for the small stuff. Yesterday, I ended up just putting a carton of eggs, salad mix, and carrots ON TOP of Frankie [who was sleeping and didn’t seem to mind a bit].
It’s a mess.
As we walk into the grocery store and I desperately try to figure out what I forgot to put on my list that I thought I would remember, Ellie starts going crazy. It’s crazy! Like screaming and pointing and laughing and almost dragging the cart with her. I looked over to see what the big deal was, and there they were – a couple of rouge peaches hanging out, just waiting for us to grab them up. They looked lonely, and I willing to let them come home with us and be our friends.
I am still unsure if I should be impressed or sorry that I have made my little one such a food freak.
But have no fear, you do not need to have a food freak, ripe peaches or raspberries to make this puree. Frozen peaches and raspberries will work just fine. I make no promises that this delicious mouth candy puree will not turn your little one into a little food freak.
Have a great weekend!

Hey I was wondering if I do freeze this, how do I defrost this?
I usually heat up on the stove. But is this something to be had cold?
You can leave it overnight in the fridge to defrost or heat it up on the stove. Hope that helps:)
When puréeing fruits like peaches or apples or pears do I need to peel them first? I’m excited about making this!
For starter purees, I would recommend peeling the fruit. But after the first introduction, it’s up to you. I am usually too lazy to peel (since they are going into a blender anyway) but if you want to peel, feel free.
Do you think frozen mango would work instead of peaches? Maybe just less water?
Yes, I think that mango is a great substitute in place of the peaches.
My little one loves this and several other recipes here. Thank you so very much for sharing!!
Question, though… when frozen, I find that the quinoa gets thick and very gummy. I thin it with milk or a thinner purée like pears. Have you seen this result?
I haven’t experienced this, but you can always thin it out with any puree, breast milk, formula or water if it gets too thick when thawing.

I’m going to try your recipe to introduce my twins to quinoa. Haha I have mastered grocery shopping with twins. One in the carseat crosswise on top of the main basket, so you can slip foodstuffs underneath, and the other one in a carrier. When they are both sound asleep when I get to the foodstore I put both carseats crosswise on top of the main basket. I lift one carseat as needed to put foodstuffs underneath. Shopping and an upper body workout all at once.

I love this recipe! (I love them all). I didn’t have any raspberries or pears so I did the same mix but with blueberries and apple. My LO looked at me like "where has this been all my life!"
I love this!! Sounds amazing!!! And I love her look, I can totally picture it right now!!

Hi! If I use frozen peaches then can I freeze the leftover portions for the future?
Hi! Check out the notes section under the ingredients and instructions. It can be frozen for up to 4 months. xo, Michele
I just made this into pouches! I used canned peaches, and added all the juice plus about 1/2 cup of water. It made 6. Love the recipe – thank you!
Love that idea!!! I need to post more recipes that you can use for the pouches because I actually use them all the time! Thanks for the reminder!

My baby K’Tan has been amazing for making grocery shopping possible. My little will just hang out and look around or fall happily asleep.
Thank is a great idea! I tried my carrier this week and it was awesome. Only problem was that my baby was fast asleep and my toddler was pitching a fit! Now just have to work on having her behave!!! lol!!

baby carrier for the smallest, it’s the only way to fit any food in the cart! 🙂
Thanks a great idea!!! I have no idea why I haven’t thought of this and I will try it out week!
